A page that praises every tool is useless. We say when a tool is not recommended for a specific use case.
Trust / Methodology
How we test AI resume tools.
Scores are earned, not sold. Affiliate relationships never change rankings.
Every review must include tradeoffs, cons, and who should not use the tool.
Method
The test protocol
1. Same source resume
We start from the same baseline resume so tools compete on output quality, not input advantage.
2. Same target job
We compare each tool against the same job description to measure keyword matching and relevance.
3. Same ATS risks
We check dropped sections, contact parsing, dates, columns, tables, and template readability.
Scorecard
What affects a ranking
| Factor | Weight | What we look for |
|---|---|---|
| ATS parsing | 35% | Clean section detection, contact fields, dates, and single-column readability. |
| Job matching | 25% | Keyword gaps, role language, and whether the tool improves relevance without keyword stuffing. |
| Output quality | 20% | Specific bullet rewrites, believable phrasing, and whether the final resume still sounds human. |
| Pricing & free tier | 10% | Whether a job seeker can test value before paying. |
| Risk & honesty | 10% | Where the tool is weak, who should avoid it, and whether templates create ATS risk. |

What we will not compromise
Every review includes cons
Free tools give value before email
The ATS Checker shows results first. Email capture happens only after the user has received useful feedback.
Affiliate links are disclosed
Commercial links use sponsored/nofollow attributes and never determine the ranking.
Want to test your own resume? Start with the free ATS Checker, then compare tools only if the scan shows a real problem.
